You read that correctly, but it does not mean the titanium will be available separately. It won't be ... Period.
The plastic titanium maze comes with the collectors set for those collectors set owners who want to play with the titanium but not with their metal one.

Hmmm, so I'm the only one reading "Note we will supply a made-up plastic version of the titanium for the enthusiast to try" on the info about the collectors set?

The TiObs is part of the CE and only available to those who have purchased the CE.

Ah I had read it the same way.

Sort of a bummer - can't justify the price of the CE after purchasing all the rest. I suppose people might start selling their old regular Extreme's once they've solved them all in order to purchase the CE kit and obtain the Titanium.

The plastic version is to be sent out with the collectors edition only. It's not going to be sold individually. The reason for sending out the plastic version is so that as a collector, you can still solve the maze without having to assemble the extreme version.

Before I ordered the Obs set. And then a Bronze Extreme to keep me busy while I waited. And then a Red Extreme. And then Orange. And then the 007 SEs. And then the Handmade.

I wonder if having ordered the CE as a cheap way to get Series I still sounds plausible .... :?
I'm an impatient Impulse Buyer. If the collector's editions had been available for delivery when I first started this journey I wouldn't have hesitated more than a few minutes to order one. There's better than a 50/50 chance that I still will buy one -- in a couple more weeks -- AFTER I find out how much more I owe on taxes -- and if any CE's are still available when I heal up ($$$$$) from paying those taxes. Meanwhile,I'm SURE I have enough revomazes to keep me busy for awhile. Judging from my experience with the Blue and Green Obsessions, this Bronze Extreme could take me two months or more. The Silver one should be here in another week or so, and then the Gold whenever it becomes available.

Red, Silver, Gold - In-hand.

Unfortunately, nobody here can give you an accurate or reasonable time table for the CE release.

...well it will be some time.

You may want to get the Bronze and/or Silver to do this year.

I don't think anyone has ordered a CE set without first solving a metal Revo. Remember the CE set comes open with all the maps - there would not be much a challenge there for you.

A few people have, you can actually specially request that it be closed. However, the CE set is really designed to stay pretty and not get worn down by use.

You can request it closed, as the others have said, as a cheap(er) way of getting them all. Don't start counting the days though. My estimated time line goes something like this:
  • Gold Release
  • Handmade Release
  • Gold Solved
  • Orange Release
  • Live Event
  • Titanium Design
  • CE Release
Even if I haven't missed anything in there, which I probably have, you're not going to be receiving your case full of precious any time soon.
