I just use a cotton swab or cotton bud to clean out the maze and a soft cloth to clean out the inside.

Danlock is a great puzzle. It is actually a real padlock made into a puzzle, not a puzzle that only looks like a padlock. I really liked the black when I did it, and yes you should map your progress.
It really doesn't matter how you map things out, as long as you can understand it and it helps you along. The more accurate and to scale you can be the better.

Do you honestly think that you could reproduce the properties of solving a Revomaze with a touch screen and an accelerometer? I reckon that most of the appeal of a Revo is in the way that you can physically manipulate it and feel what is happening without being able to actually see it. A phone will...
