How many parts in the Gold

Chris Pitt posted some interesting information on the upcoming Gold Revomaze in the General Handmade Limited edition Forum today. http://www.revomaze.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=1132&p=20979#p20979 Since he has told us the number of parts in the Silver, why not the Gold too. It's not l...

Re: Anything going on with these?

By stretching the definition of "parts" a static Revomaze has 9 "parts". Add to that the xx small parts in a Silver and you have yy parts. 37 parts is a BIG number for such a small puzzle. OTOH, with Chris, who knows. Maybe he means a 37 part core. If that's the case, those parts...

Re: Drilling stainless steel

I was aware of some of those examples of tool use in animals. You're right that we underestimatetheir ability. Still, flaking flint and fitting it to a shaft with twine is still something only our ancestors were able to do. Taming fire, not just taking advantage of a random fire is another skill we ...

Re: Drilling stainless steel

Ahh, tools! Almost defines us as human. There are precious few examples of tool use in the animal kingdom and nothing that comes close to our ability to improvise and build on past experience and invention. Now if only I had some. I always congratulate my wife on being human when I see her using too...

Re: Drilling stainless steel

Um..., no. I don't personally know any one with a water jet cutter, laser cutter, or spot welder for that matter. I was hoping for some useful advice on how I can do this myself. If needing a water jet or what-have-you is another way of saying I can't do it, fine. In my line of work I meet lots of p...

Drilling stainless steel

No, this isn't about drilling out the pins on a Revomaze. Much more mundane I'm afraid. A favorite kitchen utensil broke and I'm expected to fix it some how. It's a stainless steel ladle where the long handle was spot-welded to the business end. The welds broke and I thought I'd just drill some hole...

Re: Green Progress and Help

Found the open code for my green obsession. It was hiding in a shirt pocket. I found it just before it was going to be washed. I sent Chris an email with the code. Now I have to put it in a safer place, like back inside the revomaze. :D

Re: Green Progress and Help

This may have been mentioned before and if so I'll blush

It seems like I've misplaced the certificate after opening my green obsession. I know, "I've heard that one before". But really, is there any alternative other than buying another one?

Re: Differences between Plastic and Metal

I've got both Greens opened. I can't say that either is easier since the critical task is the same. I did notice a slight difference in the mazes. Perhaps Chris did this to make the Green obsession slightly easier. If so, I think he failed. ;)

Re: We are go for green

I got the Green EX last week and opened it since then. I'm not putting it back together until I've photographed it.

I totally agree with others saying that it's the hardest to open repeatedly. On to the Bronze age. ;)
