Another thought, Willie Strijbos has many contacts in Taiwan and other countries.
Maybe he would be a good contact for his opinion on remaking these sleeves ???
Anybody here willing to approach him or is this a bad idea???

Just opened my Plugged Well with the help of pliers. The last part was swelled up and wouldn't budge by hand. Another internal part wouldn't return to the normal position because of swelled wood. :( For a fairly expensive puzzle, it was disappointing that it didn't work smoothly. :( At least no brok...

I have no problem waiting for my R2 Mercury
to have the drawbar replaced with the longer
one. I would prefer waiting another week or
two and have a quality finished product, than
deal with replacing the drawbar in the future.
