Still stuck this puzzle is driving me crazy

I'm in the part of the maze where you run in to the trap and the rest area. I've been back and forth a few hundred times and I haven't found anything new

I have been fiddling with the gunmetal for five days and I can't get past the third part it took me about an hour to find part three of the maze and I've been going in circles sense please help
