Welcome to the forums!

The red is a great puzzle, but has very little in common with the other puzzles in the main series (Blue, Green, etc). It was released as a limited edition which means that the primary purpose isn't always difficulty. It certainly has a very big secret! That being said, it can be a beast of an experience as a first puzzle. I'd suggest picking up one of the blue obsessions if you find yourself struggling a bit. They're cheap while still being made to high standards and tolerances, and will give you a taste of what a typical Revomaze should feel like. Each puzzle subforum has a General, Registered and Open group. Within the Registered forum, you can read up on other people's experiences and post your own progress. To register for this forum, follow the instructions on the FAQ page.

Again, welcome and enjoy your stay :D

All the best,
Matt

First of all, whising everybode a great puzzling new year :}

And have a new question about the Red which is: How many are made of them exactly, as I have read that it is 100, another I read is 125 examples, so wich is it? :}

I think Chris Pitt is probably the only person who can really answer that ...

There were originally going to be 250 but as the Red is a bit "special" it was decided that less would be made so the numbers were halved to 125. Around this time Chris was having issues with the platers and he was looking around for a new company to do the work. Chris used some red cores to test various plating companies and their different methods. So a whole bunch were effectively scrapped in the process.

So while there could have been 125 of them, only 100 were used (apparently). As you can see from the Red User List though, the numbers used for tests weren't necessarily taken from the end of the run so the serials still go up to ~125. I suspect there may be one or two spares incase any need replacing, but that's just a guess.

The Red Ex was given a Revo difficulty rating of 85/100. As a comparison, the Bronze was given 80/100.

Now personally I disagree with that, but you can decide for yourself once you've opened a few Revos to compare it with.
